“Coffee and chocolate—the inventor of mocha should be sainted.”
― Cherise Sinclair
The making of chocolate goes back to the time of the great Mesoamerican Civilizations. Join us for a day in the history and traditions of chocolate making.
We’ll pick you up from your hotel or you can meet us at our office at 11:00 am. From there we’ll travel by road to the entrance to the Aroma de Cacao Farm where it’s a short hike from there to the farm itself.
Once we reach the farm we’ll learn about the raw materials used in the production of Chocolate. Next we’ll get to try our hands at making chocolate and molasses in the traditional way – and get to taste some too! After practicing our chocolatier skills, we’ll break for a traditional lunch.
After lunch we’ll learn more about the types of crops produced in the Amazon Region. We’ll depart for the hotel around 4:30pm and arrive back in Coca by 5:30pm.
