On the starting day of your tour, AmazonTravel will arrange pickup for the airport, bus station, or your Hotel to the AmazonTravel offices, where your guide will go over details and safety precautions about your trip before departing at 10:30 a.m. by vehicle via Auca. In three hours we will arrive at the Shiripuno River Bridge, where this unique unforgettable adventure begins in the heart of the Yasuni National Park within the Waorani territory. Upon arrival we board a motorized canoe that will take us downstream, along the small river Shiripuno. During the journey we will be surprised by the flying of birds and the songs of animals and observe the animals in their natural state. In about three hours we arrived at the Waorani family camp and set up our camp before spending the afternoon and evening in the jungle in order to observe animals.
Our day starts at 06:00 a.m. with breakfast followed by a walk in the jungle accompanied by our Waorani guide, who will teach us about life and survival in the jungle. During this journey we will have the opportunity to see animals like the Saino (wild pig), deer, monkeys, parrots, toucans among other species before arriving back at camp for lunch. For the afternoon we’ll fish for piranha and in the evening observe caimans.
At 06:30 a.m. breakfast is ready, then we’ll prepare for a walk to a natural viewpoint where along the way we’ll observe wildlife and we will learn about medicinal plants and the Curare plant, used to make a deadly poison used for hunting.
We’ll start our morning with a 07:00 a.m. breakfast followed by a visit with the Waorani family. Here we will participate in cultural activities, ancestral games, and learn their crafts. Finally we’ll load our canoes for transfer to the Shiripuno bridge and our journey back to El Coca, arriving around 15:00 p.m.
